Have your track mixed by a professional with over 14 years in the music business.
If your tune lacks power, presence or shine I can take it up to the best possible level and make sure it competes sonically against any commercial broadcast material.
£160.00 per track for solo unsigned artists
A range of rates or conditions are available for professional commercial projects.
Take some time to listen to before and after samples of some work I have completed, the before samples are the reference mixes I had to work from, the after samples will be my mix with a simple mastering pre-set I use on all mixes to give clients an idea of the finished product, I generally do not master as this I believe is a job for a specialist. As well as this basic mastered mix you would be provided with a clean non-mastered version for handing to the mastering engineer of your choice.

I won’t mix recordings that I think are not ready to be mixed or waste your money trying.
I work only on music that I feel something for and know I can deliver to a high standard.
If I cannot blow you away with what you get back, then I’ve failed and so I only work with material that I know will mix well.
Of course some tracks while not ready for a mix might have a ton of potential, so I’m not going to pass up on a song I really like that with a little fixing could be first class.
I can work with an artist from a production objective and advise, co-write, program and over dub parts as the track requires, this would be something we can discuss together if you know your track could do with a little work before mixing.
I don’t just give you a mix you cannot alter I fully expect to get mix notes back from you and suggestions to how it should be tweaked. My goal is to have you want to mix all of your work with me so it’s not in my interest to send you away dissatisfied.
For the price quoted you will receive your track or tracks mixed with alternative mixes also.
These would include…
Full Mix with loudness mastering – for comparative listens with commercial recordings
Full Mix without any mastering – for specialist mastering
Track dub mix or no vocals – for live use, particularly for solo artists
If you have other preferences for alternative mixes we can discuss this.

I need your recorded files delivered to me as WAVs so they will work with my personal DAW choice which happens to be Nuendo.
You need to provide consolidated tracks as either mono or stereo WAV files retaining the sample and bit rate of the original session.
This will probably be 48Hz and at 24bit – although 44Hz is still very popular. Only if something went wrong will you be sending 16bit. We can work with that but ideally I need the highest resolution available upto 48Hz.
You need to give me tracks that begin at 0 and finish at the final bar including fading audio.
Even if there is just one shaker at bar 58, you still need to give me the entire track from 0 to finish.
You will need to provide the BPM if played to click tracks and I will also need the current version you are listening to for reference.
You should ideally supply WAVS that are not treated, no compression, no EQ, no delays or modulation effects. Only if you feel the sound is essential to the vibe of the track should you send it with effects printed. Those effects may determine if you should send the WAV in mono or stereo.
Tracks should be printed set in the centre position of the panning window, that is not panned off left or right regardless of it is mono or stereo.
The vast majority of the WAV files should be in mono, they are certainly easier to work into a mix, but there may be instruments that you really want to keep in stereo. Think about this though or contact me if you need advice. If you have more than 2 tracks in full stereo that’s probably one track too many.
You need to consolidate these also and provide only WAVs.
In the case of multi-output virtual instruments such as BFD, Battery or Kontact, you must export and supply individual tracks.
A full bounce down of BFD for example would include a number mono and stereo exports.
Be aware that if you send a stereo mix of a complete drum kit or composite mixes of several tracks my hands are severely restricted in how I can treat the sounds in that mix. If I EQ a kick drum from a stereo mix of drums it will of course EQ the entire kit, you will get a far better mix if you can supply individual kick drum, snare, hi hats, cymbals and toms. You get the idea, but of course if you’re unsure we can discuss this.

The songs you can listen to here are composed and performed or written by myself, a number of them will be used for a personal project but interested parties can discuss licencing for their personal use.
I am interested in seeking management, publishers, performers and musicians who dig the style.
I would like to hear from drummers, guitarists, bass players, keyboard players and others with a view to playing out or contributing to a potential album project.
Anyone who has any suggestions are welcome to get in contact.
If you like what you hear but need something a little different I can write songs or co-write upon request.

Jon Griffin – Stream of Consciousness
My blog was inspired by the renaissance writer Michelle de Montaigne who hadan oddly contemporary style that was out of step with his time. His writing was loose and dis-organised often contradictory but always fascinating and charming. Perhaps his most endearing quality is how his stream of consciousness is so un-aged and many who discover him feel that he could be a man alive today. Many also feel an affinity with his personal philosophies.
While I don’t consider myself anything approaching the calibre of this man, I did feel I had found the justification of every possible kind of rant that I otherwise tortured my family members with.
My blog is then an experiment with opinion, political, psychological and spiritual, as much a cathartic exercise as it is an attempt to find new understanding or sharing of ideas.

Griffin Pro Audio came about from a love of vintage analogue studio equipment and was a trading post for my recording studio initially. It was also a saviour during a number of barren, session free months and kept me in Studio Rent as well as food and a (not inconsiderable at the time…)going out budget.
Thing is it was so popular that it has grown to what it is today, it’s a viable business now in its own right and I have two employees who help me run it.
I enjoy managing this business. I still source old characterful kit and it’s healthy for me to have good relations with all the manufacturers as well as keeping a bread and butter stream for when those rainy days roll in.
If you like vintage kit as well as new lines of very high end pro audio equipment please do take time to visit www.griffinproaudio.com its full of very groovy stuff, even if you can’t buy it, it’s still fun to look at.
